We live and work here, so a home visit in the Redlands does not need to be scheduled around a long drive. That matters most when something has gone wrong and you need someone in the room this week rather than next month.
What is different about the bayside
The single biggest coordination issue in the Redlands is the water. Supports for participants on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and Minjerribah have to work around ferry and barge timetables, and plenty of mainland providers quietly will not travel. Workable rosters here are built around the boat, not around a standard two-hour shift — and that has to be negotiated with providers up front, not discovered in week three.
The other is transport more generally. Redland City is spread out and public transport thins quickly once you are away from the Cleveland line, so transport funding and provider travel need to be planned deliberately rather than assumed.
On the mainland side, the Redlands has a reasonable allied health and support worker market, with Capalaba and Cleveland as the practical hubs, and Brisbane capacity half an hour away when something specialised is needed. We use both.

Do you coordinate supports on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands?
Yes. Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra Islands, and Minjerribah, are part of our normal service area. Island rosters need providers who will genuinely travel and schedules built around the ferry and barge timetables, which we negotiate as part of setting the supports up.
Are you actually based in the Redlands?

Can you help if my plan was written before I moved to the Redlands?
